Set in glorious Wales, Tyn y Berth Hall is a grand old house with a wealth of extras

Welcome Basket for holiday people in Wales Tyn y Berth Hall provides delightful self-catering accommodation set in a Georgian house with beds for sleeping 12 in its own 2 acre garden, nestled in picturesque Snowdonia halfway between Machynlleth and Dolgellau.

We've done our best to create unique self-catering accommodation, providing many options for a large party with a variety of ages who have glorious 'holiday time' on their hands: you can enjoy making music or making sandcastles, playing numerous board games or playing at dressing up, creating artistic paintings or creating secret dens in the garden, challenge yourself on our new low ropes course or just relaxing round the bar-b-que or our unique outdoor fire pit. Being bored will certainly not be an option! To find out more select Inside the House and Out in the Garden.

The house is situated in the dramatic foothills of Cadair Idris, two minutes from the exquisite Tal-y-llyn lake, only 10 miles from the wonderful 4-mile sandy beach between Tywyn and Aberdyfi.

The area is stunning and offers a whole host of activities. To find out more select Activities in the Local Area.

The house itself is a lovely grand old country house with high ceilings and cornices, plenty of room and tons of character.

Although we do put on an extra charge for them, dogs are most welcome, but must be kept downstairs at all times, please.

Downstairs, the house has a sitting room with open fire; a music room; a kitchen & utility room; a dining room which seats 10 - 12 people; one downstairs bedroom with 3 single beds; a conservatory; a toilet and cloakroom.

Upstairs the house has a family bathroom with bath and a separate shower unit; one double room with en-suite; one double room with its own toilet and sink; one double room which also has a single bed in it plus a fourth double room.

The house was originally built in 1856 for the owner of the local mine and consequently the craftsmanship of the local slate workers is evident throughout the house and garden.

New developments in 2012 will include an outside bath with a fire underneath it - the longer you are in it the warmer you get!
